Why is Biblical SEL Important?

In today’s world, we need God's truth and loving light more than ever before, to guide our steps and constantly realign our perspectives and behaviors with His holy values. This text reminds us that God provided specific instructions on how to live (Biblical SEL) and provided Jesus, who modeled and taught those essential human skills. Readers will gain a better understanding of how SEL and scripture can help us intentionally pursue a relationship with God, a meaningful life (+afterlife), and thrive.

Without this Biblical lens, secular SEL skills lack God's love and His Holy values. The forgone opportunity to develop Biblically-based discernment and spiritual intelligence (SQ) skills can result in systems misleading youth and adults who place excessive worth on worldly idols and pressured into societally-accepted but harmful behaviors. Remember, although some things are ok to do, not all things are good for you (1 Cor 10:23).

So to bring God to the forefront of our lives, so that He is the center of all that we think, say, and do (Col 3:17), it starts with daily practice of Biblical SEL.
